Program:

16:30: Bike tour with Berlin on Bike.
Discover places around our theme Higher, faster, further? – Energy & mobility in the city.
Already in the legendary Golden 20s it was “Tempo, Tempo, Tempo!”. 100 years of “Higher, Faster, Further” have caused damage to our planet – global warming and environmental destruction. Is the trend reversal coming now? Or just a pair of fig leaves? On our guided bike tour we will look at examples from the areas of mobility and energy.
Meeting point Alexanderplatz – at the world time clock. Because it is 5 to 12.

The tour ends at Görlitzer Park, where the performance and bicycle cinema will take place.
Please bring your own bikes.
Participation for the tour only with registration via this link!
After registration you will receive some important information about the tour.

8 pm: Performance by Maraña.
An aesthetic experience knitted entirely out of wool.
A world without reference, though abstraction.
Maraña is a place where we connect with the very basic shapes of the human subconsciousness.
It takes the place where it is installed, and transforms into a living space where the colours, materials and sensations take the audience to an unexplored world.

9 pm: Bicycle Cinema.
Shortfilm program Higher, faster, further? – Energy & Mobility. The films of the Couch Potato Stop Motion Challenge 2021 will be screened as supporting films. The main program will feature international short films, curated especially for the evening: From stolen bikes vs unicorns, to the inventor of Critical Mass, small creatures and their love for machines, a satire on our oil-based civilization or a small bike courier business in Lebanon – from documentary to fiction to animation, from Guatemala to Spain to Canada.

At the energy self-sufficient cinema, 10 stationary bicycles are used to pedal all the electricity for the cinema. The audience can take turns. Bring your bikes, we can use them for the cinema!

The event is part of the STADT_LAND_FLUSS (city country river) series of events:

Each event has its own theme. In the city it is about energy & mobility, in the countryside about deceleration & nature and on the river about water as a resource & habitat. Each event starts with a tour to the venue – by bike or canoe or on foot through forests and meadows in and around Berlin. The evening program highlights the topic in a different way through artistic performances and ends with an open air cinema under the starry sky.
With this project, we pursue the goal of contributing to the sustainability debate and want to actively invite people to open up new perspectives on much-discussed topics through creativity and art.
