‘CineCita - La Mirada de Ella’

Send in your short films that tell stories from a women’s perspective!

We are looking for films that deal with the ideas, realities, wishes, hopes, fears, dreams and fantasies of women all over the world, in any creative way.

CineCita is a nomadic film experience that will travel through Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia from October 2010 till January 2011. We will proudly present the selected short film program on the topic ‘La Mirada de Ella’ to local audiences throughout rural areas of the Andes, outdoors and free of charge.

CineCita will hold film workshops to give young women of the Andean region the opportunity to explore their everyday lives in the form of short documentary films. Drawing on the films in the program for inspiration, participants will learn techniques for presenting their own stories with a video camera. Do you believe your film can be an inspiration for young women - and possibly motivate them to create and shoot short films themselves? Then send your movie on the road!

Special Award

Out of all the selected films one filmmaker will be offered the possibility to join this nomadic film experience for one month! CineCita will cover all travel and lodging costs!

Please visit the Project website www.cinecita.org to download the entry form!

Moving Visions

Seminar on International Project Development, 4-11 September 2009

Estonian, Latvian, Polish, German and Dutch partner organizations lived and worked together for one week on sailing ship the Lovis, as a follow-up from the Moving Baltic Sea project 2008. During the first ‘organizational speed dating day’, the participants ‘dated’ in order to create new project ideas and look for new ways of cooperation between the different on-board organizations. The outcomes of this day were used throughout the rest of the seminar in the daily workshops that all participants gave and attended. These workshops addressed different aspects of international project development, such as practical exercises in international sponsoring and fundraising, how to benefit from international creative platforms, how to develop a project concept etc.

The intensive program was alternated with a few hours of sailing every day. The participants had a fruitful exchange in experiences, created common project ideas and strengthened the network. The last evening, the international crew arrived in Hamburg harbour, where we held our public film screening “Segelflimmern”. Around four hundred visitors came to enjoy the international short films, projected on the main sail of the Lovis.

Partner organizations of Moviemiento joining the seminar:

  • Estonia: ‘Kinobuss’, ‘Lodiboat’
  • Latvia: ‘Tellus’, ‘2Annas’, ‘Foundation for Environmental Education’
  • Poland: ‘Culture Collective’, ‘The Centre for Ecological Information and Education’
  • Germany: ‘Böe e.V.’
  • The Netherlands: ‘Little Mountain’, ‘Latin American Film Festival’

The film screening “Segelflimmern” was co-funded by the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung.

Moving Visions was funded by the European Union, Youth in Action program 4.3
